FAQs
How do trials work?
Trials are offered in our studio or on location. For on location trials, the same wedding day travel fees above will apply. At your trial we will execute one hair and/or one makeup look. Minor tweaks can be made to ensure you love your look. If a change in style is desired, additional time can be booked for an added fee. Trial services are contracted and paid for separate from your wedding day services. Booking a trial does not guarantee availability for your wedding day. Most brides will book their trial after booking their wedding. While trials are not required, they are highly encouraged before your wedding day during the months of January, February, June - August. The artist you trial with will be the same artist doing your services on the wedding day.
When should I book my wedding?
We are currently booking anywhere from 4 months to a year out depending on the season. Florida's wedding season is all year round with the busiest months being March - June and September - November. We always recommend securing your wedding date as soon as you have your venue and photographer. However, a good rule to follow is at least 6 months in advance.
How much should I expect to spend?
There is a 4 service booking minimum for all bookings. Brides who book with Curl.Wink.Blush can expect to spend around $800 for a smaller party, and $1500, on average, for larger parties. This is a median range of what our brides spend and can vary based on your party size, timeline and mileage.
Just need services for yourself? We are always willing to work with our brides. If your timeline is flexible at all we may be able to accommodate a bride only booking. Most of our brides will book their services at the minimum booking rate.
Do you offer airbrush makeup?
Because Curl.Wink.Blush works with independent contractors, airbrushing cannot always be guaranteed. Airbrushing is a technique just like using a brush or a sponge. Each artist has their personal preference. While we encourage artists to offer airbrushing what is most important to us is that each artist can deliver a flawless look that exceeds your expectations and lasts all day! If you have preference please be sure to note it in the questionnaire you'll receive once we confirm availability.
What do I need to bring to my hair and makeup appointment?
Your artist will have everything needed for your hair or makeup appointment. If you have a favorite product or if you have allergies, feel free to bring what you would typically use, and your artist will discuss with you the best course of action. Outside of that, no need to bring lashes, or foundation, or old bobby pins... If you have any hair accessories or plan to wear a veil, your artist will be more than happy to install those for you as well.
My bridal party is going to pay for themselves, can you take individual payment on the wedding day?
Your wedding day is BUSY. While we understand everyone's budgets are different, We have found that it is in everyone's best interest that payment is done ahead of time. To book your wedding you will pay a nonrefundable retainer of $250. The rest of your invoice will be broken down into 2 equal payments with the final payment due 2 weeks prior to your wedding day. Most brides will have their party pay them once they've booked and know the exact total. Cash or Venmo among other payments methods will be accepted on the wedding day for your party to give gratuity individually.
What time will we need to start getting ready?
Most parties start getting ready between 8am-10am, but your timeline will depend on a few key factors:
How many services are needed? You can calculate about 45 minutes per adult service and 1 hour each for bridal services.
What time does your photographer want you ready? Most photographers will want you getting dressed about 2 hours prior to your ceremony time.
Where are you getting ready? Don't forget to factor in travel time if you're not getting ready at your venue.
It's a good idea to know at least your ceremony time and a close estimated number of services before moving forward with next steps in booking.
