First of all… congratulations! Whether your date is locked in or you’re still daydreaming on Pinterest, I’m so glad you’re here!!!
I’m Zulmarie, the owner of Curl.Wink.Blush, and together with my team, we help brides look and feel like their best selves, soft, radiant, and undeniably you on one of the most photographed (and emotionally charged!) days of your life.
Here’s a little roadmap to help you plan your beauty services with confidence, calm, and clarity straight from the perspective of a hair and makeup artist who’s seen it all.
💍 9–12 Months Before the Wedding: Start Dreaming + Booking
Book early – Especially if your wedding is in peak season (spring/fall). Our beauty team books 9–12 months in advance.
Gather inspiration – Pinterest, saved IG reels, your camera roll from a good hair day. Pay attention to textures, colors, and how “done up” you want to feel.
Think about your overall vibe – Are you going classic and elegant? Whimsical and glowy? This will help your artist guide your look.
Start researching artists – Look for portfolios that reflect your taste. A full-glam artist might be great, but if you’re a natural, curly haired beauty, you’ll want someone who knows how to enhance, not mask your features.

💡 6–8 Months Before: Lock It In + Plan a Trial
- Book your team – We recommend booking hair and makeup at the same time if possible. At Curl.Wink.Blush, we offer both for a seamless experience.
- Schedule your trial (aka preview) – We love doing trials 1-3 months from your wedding day, once you’ve narrowed in on your style. Pro tip: do your trial when you have another event (engagement shoot, bridal shower, etc.).
- Prep your hair and skin – Consistency is key! Healthy curls? Let’s get on a trim schedule. Want glowing skin? A facial plan now pays off big later. Check out this post for our favorite skincare pros.

✨ 2–4 Months Before: Fine-Tune the Details
- Confirm your final look – At this point you’ll be having your trial, or just sending over inspo photos and preferences now that your details are solid.
- Share the timeline – We’ll coordinate with your planner or photographer to make sure hair & makeup timing works with everything else.
- Consider add-ons – Like a trim or highlight appointment to make sure your wedding day look is just right.
🧖♀️ 1–2 Weeks Before: Treat Yourself
- Book a shine gloss or blowout – Now’s the time to freshen things up without making any big changes. A blowout the day before can prep your hair perfectly for wedding day styling.
- Skincare, brows, lashes, etc. – Do any waxing/threading at least 7 days out. Lash lifts or facials? Same window.
- Hydrate, rest, and trust your pros – We’ve got you!

💄 The Wedding Day
Eat, hydrate, breathe – Don’t forget to plan for breakfast AND lunch getting ready timelines are usually from 9am – 2pm. You’ll need sustinence!
Arrive with clean, dry hair unless your artist tells you otherwise. Use this guide to help you!
Wear a robe, button down or something that won’t mess up your hair when changing – Silk and satin work best!
Bonus: Don’t Forget Pre-Wedding Events!
We love pampering our brides for:
